Plausible Sci-Fi Novel & Companion Forum Announced By Author Sam Toney
Oct 20, 2026
Retired board-certified psychiatrist Sam D. Toney, M.D., has announced Revelation Equation, a plausible sci-fi novel in progress, along with a companion website.
Thonotosassa, United States, October 20, 2026 /NewsNetwork/ -- Author and retired board-certified psychiatrist Sam D. Toney, M.D., is writing Revelation Equation, a science fiction novel built around a mathematical formula that may reveal the structure of other dimensions. Toney describes the book as “plausible sci-fi,” his term for fiction that stays as close as possible to real, established physics.
Updates on the novel and its development are available at https://revelationequation.com
In Toney's story, which is currently in progress, the central character spends decades developing a working formula drawn from quantum theory, particle physics and dimensional mechanics. The equation changes as the plot moves forward, and the story builds toward a test of the formula at CERN, home of the Large Hadron Collider, where scientists confirmed the Higgs boson - often called the “God particle" - in 2012.
Alongside the science theme, the novel takes up philosophical questions of identity, purpose, consciousness and the nature of truth. The characters’ fear, wonder and obsession are intended to keep the human stakes in view as the physics becomes more complex, says a representative for Toney.
The project’s companion website states that the book grew out of Toney’s broader goal of bringing different schools of thought and spiritual beliefs into closer conversation, with the aim of encouraging greater acceptance of other people’s views.
The website follows the novel as it is being written. “Regularly, Sam will reveal bits and pieces of the story as it develops,” a spokesperson for the project says. The site also hosts a reader forum and a blog with articles on string theory, the multiverse, the holographic principle and the relationship between science and spirituality.
Revelation Equation may interest readers looking for a sci-fi book grounded in current physics, along with those who read books on science, spirituality or simply on the larger mysteries of the universe.
