The Fast 50 Awards recognize the 50 fastest-growing private companies in the greater Raleigh-Durham area. Triangle Business Journal is celebrating their 29th year recognizing local business growth and acknowledging the hard work of all nominees at the award ceremony.

APEX, NORTH CAROLINA – For decades, public speakers have taken the stage to discuss success; what it means to them, what it looks like, and how they got there. However, it appears that despite the widespread availability of in-person events, growth-focused books, and motivational social media content, onlookers seem to miss one of the biggest keys to success – that it began with internal humility, consistency, and passion, long before it showed on the surface.
John Rodgers, President and CEO of GoPrime Mortgage, recently spoke on this concept when he was recognized among 49 other fast-growing companies in the local Raleigh-Durham area for his excellence at scale. As he accepted first place for the Fast 50 award, he stated, “In 2014, a fellow award winner shared something that stuck with me. He said that it wasn’t about coming in first, it was about being on the list year after year, and if you’re able to stay on the list, you know you’re growing your business successfully. Try to stay on the list. With that in mind, we’ve managed to stay on for eight straight years. In 2019, we were at number 50. We made it each year because of our solid foundation of great employees that go the extra mile support our clients day in and day out. It all comes down to having the right and passionate people.”
The Fast 50 winners are carefully selected and ranked based on a formula that counts revenue growth and profitability in the preceding three years (2018-2020). The numbers are then dissected and analyzed by BDO, a Fast 50 partner.
