New York City, New York Apr 5, 2021 (Issuewire.com) - "The way we look at the world pre defines our luck." That was just one of the many crucial points that Dr. Christian Busch addressed in his informal discussion with a small group of high school students in the latest episode of Coffee with Leaders hosted by Gunjan Aggarwal Co-founder of Learn with Leaders. The session, which lasted for around 60 minutes, was viewed live across Facebook and YouTube by thousands of students worldwide on the Learn with Leaders' page.
Dr. Busch is the famous author of the best-selling book "The Serendipity Mindset: The Art and Science of Good Luck." His work won him praises from several influential leaders globally, with Arianna Huffington, Founder of The Huffington Post, calling it "A wise, exciting, and life-changing book."
"The idea behind this session was to prepare students for unexpected situations and outcomes. The world around us is changing so fast, and these students, our next generation, need to have a positive outlook to face every challenge that comes their way. With this session, we wanted to show these students possible ways of turning a situation into their favor and creating their own luck," said Dr. Busch.
Dr. Busch's Coffee with Leaders episode discussed the topic 'Connecting the dots in a fast-changing world: How the science of serendipity can help us create innovation, impact, and "smart luck." In the session, he spoke of the need to normalize the idea that life is not perfect and how people need to take charge of their own lives. He further had a QnA round with the students who had participated from different countries and readily answered every question. The session was moderated by the Co-founder of Learn with Leaders, Ms. Gunjan Aggarwal.
"It was a real honor to host Dr. Christian Busch and to interact with him. We had an intriguing session with him, and we are delighted to say our students learned a lot. He showed us the importance of taking charge of our own lives, designing our own luck, and succeed on our terms. He gave a boost to every student's morale and taught them a new and positive approach to life," said Gunjan Aggarwal.
Coffee with Leaders is a pro-bono initiative of Learn with Leaders and SpeakUp. They conduct sessions where cohort groups of high school students get mentored by prominent personalities and faculty from top universities worldwide. They approached Dr. Busch for his immense knowledge in building students' personalities and motivating them for their futures.
"We are all aware of the concept of luck, and some of us also believe in it. Dr. Busch guided us into taking this belief to the next step and creating our own 'smart luck.' Our interaction with Dr. Busch was fantastic. He inspired us to take more chances in life and develop opportunities for ourselves instead of merely relying on blind luck. The session has filled me with a positive zest towards my goals," said Sameera Sheikh, a student from UAE who participated in this session.
Dr. Busch is the Director of the Global Economy Program at New York University's Center for Global Affairs. He is also a teacher of purpose-driven leadership, innovation, and entrepreneurship at New York University (NYU) and the London School of Economics (LSE). He works closely with students to guide them in entrepreneurship and management.
"The happy ending depends on where you stop the story, and you can't stop the story so early!"- Dr. Christian Busch.
