New Novel "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother" Explores Family, Faith, and Resilience Through One Family's Journey

Williams has released his debut novel, He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother, a coming-of-age story that explores how family, faith, and brotherhood carry us through life's hardest moments. The novel is now available in ebook, with additional formats to follow, wherever books are sold.
At the heart of the novel is Dave, Michael's older brother, a gentle giant who spent his childhood overcoming bullying and self-doubt to become the most steady, loving presence in Michael's life. When a sudden health scare lands Dave in the hospital, Michael and his family are forced to confront how much they depend on him, and what it truly means to show up for the people we love. Throughout the novel, Williams weaves in themes of forgiveness, resilience, and faith as Michael navigates his own mistakes, setbacks, and moments of doubt, always with his brother's example to guide him.
The novel is dedicated to Williams's real-life brother, Dave, and draws on the author's own experience of growing up alongside a sibling whose quiet strength shaped the course of his life. It is, at its core, a tribute to the everyday heroism found within families, and a reminder that the people who teach us the most about love are often the ones sitting right beside us.
