A study by Gitnus revealed that 75% of resumes are rejected by applicant tracking systems because they lack the right format, content, or action words. Created by Esther Lim, an HR professional and leadership coach, the new Udemy course offers participants insider tips and strategies for capturing recruiters’ attention.

With this announcement, Esther Lim is reaching out to recent graduates, individuals looking to change their careers, and job seekers struggling with securing job interviews. Participants will get access to 80 minutes of on-demand video and can benefit from personalized expert guidance during all the steps of resume creation.
“As a seasoned HR professional and recruiter, I have curated bite-sized microlearning to deliver concise and focused content that you can easily consume and retain quickly, making it easier to fit learning into your schedules,” says Esther Lim.
Participants will learn to choose a suitable layout and formatting, present their skills and achievements, list their relevant work experience, and communicate their unique value proposition. The course also covers structure, format, and design tips for making the resume visually appealing and ATS-friendly.
According to Forbes, up to 90% of employers, including Fortune 500 companies, use Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS). If the resume is not formatted correctly, or does not contain the necessary keywords, it is automatically rejected by the system, Lim explains. In her course, she teaches participants how ATS work and how to optimize a resume for ATS, significantly increasing the candidate’s chances of having it seen by a hiring manager.
