Take Breaks, Work Better Online Course Launched: Teaches CPA's 3.3 Rule
Oct 14, 2026
The Real John Briggs has launched an online course teaching the 3.3 Rule, a structured work-and-break method for service-based business owners seeking better focus without adding more hours.
Draper, United States, October 14, 2026 /PressCable/ -- The Real John Briggs has launched an online course built around the 3.3 Rule, a method for pairing focused work with structured recovery. The rule calls for working with focus for up to three hours, then taking a break equal to 30 percent of that work period. For service-based business owners looking to work better without logging more hours, the course provides a defined, repeatable structure rather than another general productivity concept.

Research points to real benefits from stepping away from work periodically. A meta-analysis published in PLOS ONE reviewed 22 experimental studies and found small but statistically significant effects of micro-breaks on vigor and fatigue, even though the effect on overall performance did not reach significance. Separate research tracking office workers over consecutive workdays found that relaxation and social micro-breaks reduced the impact of work demands on negative mood by day's end, supporting the broader idea that recovery periods can protect performance rather than cut into it.
Despite that evidence, business owners under pressure often let breaks slip or time them inconsistently, losing much of the recovery benefit in the process, and without a clear rule to follow, break-taking tends to become guesswork rather than habit. The 3.3 Rule course addresses that gap directly, giving owners and their teams a fixed ratio between work blocks and breaks instead of leaving the decision to chance.
The course is built for business owners and their teams to apply the 3.3 Rule to their own businesses. It's a very thorough course created after working with 100s of business owners on helping them achieve work-life harmony.
Service-based business owners looking for a structured way to pair focused work with recovery, without adding hours to the week, can enroll directly.
